SUN RISES FOR MEYER SOUND IN INDIA


Sun Infonet Pvt. Ltd. of New Delhi has been named exclusive distributor of Meyer Sound products for the professional and commercial sound market verticals in India, including the sound hire, commercial installation and live entertainment business sectors.
 
Sun Infonet was selected on the basis of the company’s broad marketing experience, proven technical expertise and extensive connections to the Indian pro audio community. Established in 1999, the company has been the exclusive distributor of Shure microphones in India since 2003.

Headed by Director Neeraj Chandra, Sun Infonet Pvt. Ltd. was first established to distribute and service state-of-the-art radio and data communications equipment. Following appointment as the Shure distributor, the company further expanded its portfolio to include Allen & Heath mixing consoles and DIS conferencing systems, among other product lines.

“We had an old sound system running for some time now, but realised that it was getting worn out and not giving the kind of experience that our discerning guests expect,” exclaims Munish J Pande, Manager- Hospitality IT at Roseate House. “We therefore wanted to refurbish the full sound reinforcement system with something new that would bring about a refreshing change,” he said. “For this we were clear in mind that we had an expert to do the needful - Room Tone Consultancy.”

According to Munish, Room Tone Consultancy, headed by Director Samir Kriplani has been associated with the Bird Group and Roseate House for some time now in terms of all design, décor and AV systems installations. Samir, who is a sound engineer by profession, is passionate about systems that sound natural and loves to experiment with the best in trade.

Having known and worked with Sun Infonet earlier, Sameer invited the Delhi-based audio distributor to present a system that would fit the requirement. The system had to be robust and weather resistant – owing to its outdoor installation proposal that would be prone to seasonal harsh climate of Delhi and also aesthetic in appeal to gel well with the décor of the outlet.

Team Sun Infonet, led by Neeraj Chandra, Director presented the Quest Audio configuration comprising MX801 weather-proof speakers and amp.  Samir tested the systems, evaluated, before being convinced about the systems.

Team Room Tone, installed seven Quest Audio MX 801 weather-proof speakers powered by an amp. The locations for fixing the speakers were carefully chosen so that they do not tamper the venue décor yet get the audio installed with desired specs.

Though there were not many reverberation concerns as the space is open on the sixth floor, along with a swimming pool on one side, it did require a fair degree of attention.

Says Neeraj Chandra of Sun Infonet: “Having done many similar jobs before, it wasn’t a very challenging job for us; but the high-profile brand identity of the client, and the level of their expectation made it prestigious.”

“It was thumbs up for all of us,” says Munish. “I being the bridge between the management and the solution provider, worked with the installation team to ensure that they were properly calibrated. It came out perfectly fine.”

For Neeraj and team Sun Infonet, it was yet another success story. “While by size it may be small, but making the client happy is a big thing,” says Neeraj. “We did that; that was very satisfying.”

SUN INFONET TEAMS UP WITH REYNOLD’S FOR MASTERCLASS



In association with Reynold’s Inc. recently Sun Infonet conducted a two-day master-class focusing on the Allen & Heath dLive digital mixers in Chennai to offer training on installation, operation and troubleshooting. Rohit Reddy, Product Manager led the sessions for the sound professionals, sound engineers and rental company representatives in attendance.


‘The masterclass has definitely fine-tuned the technical skills of the participants and kept them up-to-speed with the evolving technology,’ commented M Venugopal,branch manager at Reynold’s Inc. Chennai ‘By conducting such workshops,participants keep themselves updated with the latest features of Allen &Heath mixers and also gain hands-on knowledge and experience.’


The dLive S7000 was demonstrated in combination with a DM64 MixRack to highlight the features and network ability of the console using a Dante network card. Sun Infonet and Reynold~s are set to conduct similar events in the future. ‘I was surprised to see the interest shown by participants as they wanted to know more and more about dLive,’ said Mr Reddy.

SUN INFONET GETS AGGRESSIVE WITH AUDIO FOCUS



September 2017, Sun Infonet initiated an aggressive campaign for promoting its latest brand acquisition Audio Focus.The company recently made a big splash in the audio industry with the actual launch of the products at a specially devised programme in Bengaluru which was followed by an equally energetic programme in the music-rich city of Panaji in Goa.

Bengaluru was chosen to be the launch pad for the ambitious programme and was organized in association with South India partner Reynold’s Inc. at the plush White Petals Hall on the sprawling premises of Palace Grounds.

The system set-up comprised two sets of seven each ARES 8 line arrays hung from a vertical truss on either side of a central stack comprising eight MT218 MKII subwoofers,and topped by a pair of FR-X 12 enclosures.

The ARES 8 line arrays, said to bring all those benefits of real line arrays complying to the WST (wave front sculpture technology) criteria, are suitable for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications from small scale concerts to large theatrical performances (200-5000 audiences) where sound quality is crucial. The MTSub218MKII,and FR-X 12S come with their own advantages.

Audio Focus’Asia Business Director Nicolas Kirsch – who was on site to monitor the system specs and performance parameters – explained the set-up nuances while interacting with the programme participants on the ‘experience’ they were through.

 “We wanted to test it, as a first measure, in front of our target buyers-which is why we chose this outdoor venue,” reasons Reynold’s Inc. Managing Director Felix Remedios on the choice of the location. “The systems are powerful, and more reasonably priced; we are glad we have a brand now, equal to systems of larger size and stacks, but low on price.”

 

“Audio Focus is a brand renowned for premium performance,” explains Neeraj Chandra, Director of Sun Infonet, who was on site to ensure the first splash made the right impact.

Visibly glad with the enthusiasm shown from the musical buffs around, the Sun Infonet Director said they planned for a series of similar programmes across the country to aggressively promote the brand.

‘Audio Focus’ on Goa: In Goa, the programme was organized in association with local channel partner Just Audio in a scenic, luxury resort near Porvorim,to a gathering of potential musical channel partners.

“It comprised all those musical buffs who make and matter to musical entertainment not only Goa, and Western Ghats, but beyond,” ratifies Rohit Reddy, Manager-Projects and Applications Engineer at Sun Infonet.

WORKSHOP ON WIRELESS MASTERED DIGITAL AT GOA



From the live performance to theatre, corporate conferences to international summits;wireless systems are everywhere. Despite their prevalence, wireless audio remains one of the more complex and misunderstood areas of sound.

Riding on the success of the previous seminar series and also part of educational programmes, Sun Infonet in association with local partner Just Audio and Principle Shure conducted aday-long seminar on wireless microphones entitled “Wireless Mastered Digital”at Goa.

The training,conducted by Shure Technical Support Engineer,demystified the world of wireless by providing Sound Engineers, AV Technicians and Production Professionals with the knowledge and confidence to operate reliable, secure wireless microphone. Recent spectrum allocation changes were discussed together with Wireless Workbench software and the other tools to scan and monitor the environment.
